SCSJ Stands with Civil Rights Groups in Opposing Bills Reducing Early Voting, Repealing Same Day Registration

On Friday, March 29th, the Southern Coalition for Social Justice participated in a press conference with the North Carolina NAACP and other civil rights groups, raising concerns with proposed state legislation that would dramatically reduce the number of days for early voting, eliminate Sunday voting, and repeal same day registration.  SCSJ and other groups highlighted the disproportionately negative impact these changes would have on voters of color in the state.  These proposed measures are voter suppression efforts, and SCSJ will continue to fight against such disenfranchising measures.
