***The Census Bureau will be mailing out census forms March 15th - 17th. Look for yours in the mail, fill it out, and send it in!*** The SCSJ Census Outreach Program is working in five key southern states to raise awareness and increase participation in the 2010 Census. New information and resources for Census outreach efforts are highlighted here! Check back regularly between now and April 1st. Check out this great new mapping resource! This site allows you to find hard to count population data down to the census tract level for any address in the U.S., and indicates why the area is hard to count. New Hill is a small unincorporated community in Wake County, NC that was selected by the governments of Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, and Morrisville as the site for a new sewage treatment plant. The population surrounding the site is upwards of 75% ethnic/racial minorities, and the towns represented in Western Wake Partners are all far from New Hill and have an average ethnic/racial minorities populations of about 19%. |
